Gangam Street Shaping Up as New Hot Spot for K-Pop Fans

A street in Gangnam has been designated 'K-Star Road' in homage to the surging popularity of K-pop bands and singers including Psy, who shot to fame last year with his viral hit 'Gangnam Style.'

The street, which loosely mirrors Hollywood's Walk of Fame, stretches for 1.08 ㎞ between Galleria Department Store and Cube Entertainment in the trendy Apgujeong district of southern Seoul. Visitors can stroll along it, while shopping at stores and eating at restaurants frequented by pop stars. There will also be some art installations showing images of the stars and their handprints.

The project will be completed by 2015. The Gangnam district office will work on it in collaboration with private institutions and entertainment businesses.
