Melaka

A few months ago I travelled to Melaka with a luxury bus (but it was cheap (usd$5) from Kuala Lumpur it's two hours away.  Melaka has a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has been occupied  by the Portugese, Dutch and the British. All these have left many traces of the colonial on the city. I  found the Dutch quarter it's  the starting point of the heritage trip. there are many great place to sell  antiques, shop of craft and some Chinese restaurant . I found a nice a place for lunch and it was quite popular for noodle and very cheap ($3)  at the middle of Jonker Street.  
 After lunch I headed straight old town included The Old Fort, The ruins of St Paul's Church, The Dutch Cemetery, Dutch Square, Christ Church, and the Museum of Architecture.  Ancestors  in the colonial years buried traces of  honor and disgrace traces on the beautiful hill overlooking the straits of Malacca. Now, the old church remains the bare bones, and  only the ancient tombs of our ancestors has remained in a place .
However, because of the weather so hot I could not walk blindly. Let's take a short break in the middle on the looking . Great place really is a canal. I took a cruise along the river Melaka. Beautiful riverside scenery pass by, as shown. It feels different from Venice. For Melaka to experience, one day seems too short
  Backpackers guesthouse "the Discovery" seems to be quite popular for backpackers. if so it will be ok

toba in sumatra

I headed  to toba lake in sumatra via kijang taxi (around 75,000rp-90,000rp/person) from medan airport. the all road through several provinces was bumpy and narrow two-lane. it made a rough ride.
I arrived in PARAPAT(boat pier to tuk tuk of samosir island) around 3:30pm, having set-off around 6 am, an eleven hour day. On the road I sat next to a very cheerful India Malaysian couple who was a retied English teacher.
I'm guessing he was around 55, his wife around 50, but he was 65 and his wife 60. there were surprisingly youthful. They made the trip very interesting as he told us all of travel stories about his life.They lived in England in his youth.His son Married and live in Uzbekistan.

They want to see grandchildren frequently.But almost every year when they travelled.
His trip poisoning  began from childhood,he took a train on a trip of Langkawi to high school admissions exam, anyway his young free spirit should look younger. Looks for those still thinking about them, What is really Ageing in Korea? Would

authority and respect be left? Clear my mind of everything I know about typical life. Look another slow day on the roads in peaceful island of lake.
Lake Toba is the largest volcanic lake in the world created by a massive volcanic explosion. The lake is 440 square miles,Lake Toba is also one of seven Super Volcanoes in the world, meaning if it erupted it would be 1,000 times larger than an average volcanic eruption.
It is actually believed to cause the latest small ice age that knocked out the majority of the human population. Located within the lake is Samosir Island – my destination. Samosir Island is the largest island within an island in the world. On Samosir Island I stayed at Lekzon Cottage directly on the shores of Lake Toba. Our room was $16/night and  I’m sitting on our balcony looking at the lake landscape. I rented scooter and rided around a portion of the island seeing the village, Church,Children, a group of Exiting from the church. Along the way I enjoyed hot spring,especially panoramic lake view from the hill..
Everything was impressed.

또바호수로 향하는 길은 정말 멀고도 험했다. 자카르타에서 새벽 4시에 서둘러 공항으로 출발 아침 일찍 메단공항에 도착했다. 이미 이런 낮선 타지에 발을 디딛는 일은 이제 너무 익숙한일  누가 알려준 데로
무슨 여행사에서 운영하는 사설 기장 택시를 타기로 했다 그런데
그들이 알려준 정보와는 좀 달랐다. 가격이 무려 20%나 비싼 것이 아닌가  그래도 아쉬운 것은 나지. 어렵게 시간에 맞는 기장 택시를 인당
95,000루피를 타고 토바로 향했다. 모두 기사 포함 6명의 승객이 오붓하게 가는 것도  나쁠 것은 딱히 없었다. 뒷자석에 있는 인도인 부부와 그 바로 앞 좌석의 또바가 고향이라는 젊은 아줌마와 여러 이야기를 나누었다. 그 인연으로 그 인도인 노부부와는 여행 일정 내내 같이 다니게 됐다. 어찌나 나이를 구분 못하겠던지  10년은 젊어 보인는 것이 아닌가
그들이 60대 중반이라니 누가 믿겠는가  그 삶에 대한 열정하며 정말
부러웠다. 한국의 60대는 벌써 인생의 막차타는 기분으로 은둔내지는
막연한 권위와 스스로의 폐쇄성으로 세상과 소통은 문닫고 사는 나이가 아니던가. 그래 이래서 여행하다 보면 20대나 60대나 모두 친구로 지내나 보다. 호텔을 예약하지 않은 탓에 어렵게 렉존이라는 호텔을
잡을 수 있었다. 얼마 ? 15만 루피화 한국돈으로 17천원 정도 한다 아침 포함 시설이라 치면 정말 허접하지만 그런 여행하려고 온다면 이런 고생하면서 여기로 올일은 없을 것 같다. 그래서 여기는 가족 여행 보다는 배낭 여행이 적격이다. 세계에서 세번째로 크다는 이 내륙호수는
과거 신서기시대에  화산 폭발로 생겼다는데 그 여파로 지구위 빙하기가 오고  공룡이 멸종했다나 한다. 정말 크다 그래도 규모만 있는 모양새는 아니다  따뜻한 평화가 호수안의 섬 사모시르안에 자리하고 잇는 걸 느낀다.  도착 당일 저녁은 자전거를 빌려 가까운 마을 돌기로 했다
저녁 해질녁  이 낮선 마을은  편안한  고향같은 느낌으로 다가온다
작은 마을 곳곳에 게스트하우스가 산재해 있고 작은 카페 전통 공예품을 파는 가계  작은 레스토랑  중고 서적을 교환할 수 있는 중고 서점등
벡퍼커 여행지에서 볼수 있는 익숙한 풍경들이다.
 저녁을 먹기로 한다.  서양인 가족만이 음식을 기다리고 있던 작은 카페를 택해서 들어가 주문을 넣고 테이블에 앉아 호수를 바라보며 상념에 잠겨본다. 한참후 푸짐한 식사 그리고 그냥 시중가에 내놓는 맥주
식사후 나가려는데 따뜻한 감사 포옹 ... 그냥 황홀한 친절이 아니던가
다음날 일찍 인도인들과 스쿠터를 빌려  섬을 돌기로 했다.

Bunaken in Manado

Early in the morning I went on a plane (by batavia air) to Manado which is about 3hr away from Jakarta. and took a taxi (around 50-70,000rp) to port.it took  30 minutes and there are two choices to bunakenisland. you book a boat(one way -around 300,000rp/boat) or ride a public boat (50,000rp)but the latter is not easy. public boat will run once a day(around 3pm) to bunaken. if you arrive in the morning or late afternoon at port. Make reservations for boat in advance to hotel.
After arriving in Daniel's homestay(150,000rp/person), I was snorkeling(50,000rp) simply since the late afternoon. But that was fantastic. After 50m from beach, you will see  a stunning coral-reef and a 50m drop off at 90° straight down and several fish. In the evening, I had a meal with Roi from Portugal and Swiss Youth. After dinner  I heard Roi's fun travel stories, he travelled by train from Jakarta to Jogjakarta I know it was what a crazy, and the story of the independence of Papua and East Timor.Timur was long colonial of Portugal. I wonder he feels whether some nostalgia about before history  in today's difficult situation of Portugal. He seemed to be travelling throughout the year. Next day, after breakfast I decided to snorkel finally at front of beach. But it was disappointed a little if compared with the previous day. Unfortunately, I leave for Manado. 

까만 하늘에 유난히 반짝이는 별빛이  쏟아지는 이름도 낮선 적도의 섬에서 저녁은 유난히 
설랜다.  드려오는 소리라곤 암흙속에서 들려오는 파도소리 파도에 철석 배가 흔들리며 내는 소리  보통은 외롭다고 느껴지겠지만 왠일인가 그런 감성이 느껴지질 않는다  낮선곳에서의 설레임  피곤한 삶에 대한 고찰 뭐 이런 것들에  감성과 이성은 잠식당한다. 
이름도 촌스럽지만 익숙하고 친근한 다니엘 홈스테이 가든에 마련된 작은 바앞으로 로걸 
다이버 강사들이  로컬로 만든 술과 기타를 가지고 모여든다. 옹기 종기 모여 기타를 치며 
담배를 피고 병채 술을 들이키거나 나에게도 권해준다. 무슨 일이냐고 물었더니 하늘을 
보란다. full mun이다  태국의 비치에선 풀문파티가 거창하다고 하던데 이런 작은 파티라도 
하는건가! 아뿔사 여긴 적도라 늘 풀문아닌가  매일 인생이 즐거운 섬사람들 모두 인생이 
즐거워 보인다. 심지어 3시간 거리의 자국 수도인 자카르타도 가보지 못했다는 저 사람들은 
그래도 행복해 보인다. 늘 새롭게 만나는 세계 가지의 여행객들과 만나는 일이 즐겁다고 
까만 얼굴에 활짝 웃는다. 함께 식사를 할 수 있는 큰 레스토랑이 홈스테이에 하나 있다 
커피를 마실 수도 있고  아침 점심 저녁이 준비되 나온다. 저녁 딱히 할 일도 없는 이 오지 섬에서 할 수 있는 일은 여행객들과 수다떠는 일이다. 오늘 같은 테이블에 앉아  같이 어울리게된 로이라고 하는 포르투갈 청년은  인생이 오로지 여행인듯 싶다. 뭐 다음 코스는 인도의 
카지미르인가  파키스탄과의 접경지대인 위험한 산악지역이라니 더이상 할말이 없어진다. 
그의 여행 무용담을 듣고 있으면 어떤 영화보다 재미있다. 그는 인도네시아를 너무 좋아한다. 자바섬에서 자카르타에서 족자까지 기차로 14일 여행같던일, 티모르가 오랜 포르투갈의 식민지였는데  그래서 모든 사람들이 포르투갈어를 사용할 줄 알고 식민통치에서 벗어나자마자 인도네시아가 침략에 들어와  영토를 빼았다는둥 그래도 어렵게 동티모르가 독립을 
했지만 서티모르는 여전히 인도네시아의 자원욕심에 고통스러워 한다는 등 아 빠뿌아 역시 
인도네시아 자원 욕심에  희생된 완전히 다른 인종이며 독립을 원하지만  여전히 고통스러워 한다는등  좀 인도네시아 시립들이 듣기에 거북한 얘기들이지만 그의 말은 거의 ngo수준이다. 어떠랴 다음날 아침  스누쿨링을 정말 간단히 하고 일정상 섬을 떠나야 했다.
여행의 진수는 마지막  커피의 뒷끝이 남기는 중독 바로 그 느낌이 아닐까 한다. 여행지 만났던 그 친구는 지금쯤
무엇을 하고 있을라나 ...
